Without hesitation and showing no regard for life\, Michael threw himself onto an incoming grenade\, smothering it to protect the lives of two fellow SEALs. For this courageous and selfless act he was posthumously awarded the medal of honor. \n\n\n\nGarden Grove High School Class of 1999.
